Our Residential Program cares for children who have been removed from their home due to abuse, abandonment, neglect, or delinquency and are in the custody of the State of Tennessee. The children and youth reside either in our group home or in our foster homes throughout the city and region. Our group home utilizes the Sanctuary Model ® , a trauma informed approach to caring for our residents and staff. We have seen amazing positive results since beginning the implementation process in 2010 and would be happy to share further information about the model and our experience. The goal is to help our young people deal with the past trauma they have experienced and to find them a permanent, loving home. We accomplish this through reunification with the birth family or through an adoptive placement. Our most pressing need is for loving, stable adults to consider becoming foster parent(s). The mission of Chambliss Center for Children is to preserve family unity and to help prevent the
dependency, neglect, abuse and delinquency of children by responding to the community's childcare needs.
